The Band Perry Reissues Platinum Debut Album, Signalling Return to Country Music Roots

Fifteen years after its initial release, The Band Perry has unveiled a newly remastered edition of their self-titled debut album, a pivotal record that launched the GRAMMY-winning sibling trio into the national spotlight. This significant reissue marks a new chapter for the celebrated country music artists, coinciding with their official return to the genre.

The Band Perry, originally comprising Kimberly, Reid, and Neil Perry, first released their self-titled album on October 12, 2010. The collection quickly achieved platinum status in the United States, selling over one million copies and establishing the band as a major force in country music. It featured a string of hit singles that resonated with audiences, including the iconic “If I Die Young,” which has since been certified 9x Platinum and garnered a GRAMMY nomination. Other significant tracks from the debut include “Better Dig Two” and “DONE.,” both of which became fan favorites and contributed to the band’s extensive catalog of achievements.

Throughout their initial career, The Band Perry amassed an impressive discography, selling two and a half million albums and 12 million singles, while accumulating over one billion streams. Their success was further underscored by six No. 1 country singles and numerous accolades, including multiple CMA, ACM, and CMT Music Awards. “If I Die Young” alone was a monumental success, spending 53 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, winning CMA Song and Single of the Year in 2011, and earning a GRAMMY nomination.

Following a hiatus announced in early 2023, during which members focused on individual pursuits, the band has now officially reformed with a new lineup. Original members Kimberly and Reid Perry are joined by Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello, who replaces Neil Perry. This revitalized iteration of The Band Perry has also re-signed with their original label home, Big Machine Label Group, through Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment, and secured a new management partnership with Make Wake Artists. This strategic move signifies a strong recommitment to their country music identity.

“After stepping away to take a break and evolve, we’re feeling more grounded, more fired-up, and more connected to our roots than ever,” the band shared in a statement regarding their comeback. “Country music has always been home for us—and we feel so grateful to still have a seat at the table. We’re bringing everything we’ve lived, everything we’ve learned, and a whole new energy into this next season. We can’t wait to share what’s coming.”

The remastered edition of their debut album serves as a nostalgic look back at the music that first introduced The Band Perry to the world. The band expressed their hope that the reissued collection would “stir up all the memories, all the mile markers, and all the feelings that connected us in the first place,” thanking fans for being part of their journey from the very first note. This release not only celebrates their enduring legacy but also paves the way for new music and future endeavors, positioning The Band Perry for a strong presence in the contemporary music landscape. The group is currently in the studio, working with award-winning producer Dann Huff, with further music news anticipated soon. The news of the remastered album and the band’s return to country music has generated significant excitement among fans, putting the artist back in the spotlight.
